Support Families Experiencing Foster Care by Hosting a Donation Drive or Creating Donation Kits

As an organization, we only give brand-new items to the families and children we serve within the Child Welfare System. We rely on community members to help us stock our Resource Center with whatever they need.

Donation drives are a fun and easy way to engage your community, church, or workplace in wrapping around these caregivers and families as they navigate foster care. Some donation drive ideas include:

  • Books
  • Sneakers
  • Diapers
  • PJs
  • Toys
  • Jackets

You can also gather and assemble Donation Kits, which provide practical items and heartfelt encouragement during times of transition and uncertainty. Whether you're assembling them as an individual, group, or organization, each kit helps remind families that they are not alone and that their community cares.

Sign up to host a drive or create donation kits at the form at the bottom of this page, and we will be in touch! Or you can get started on your own by shopping our wishlist!

“I think Foster Village Houston uniquely understands and supports the WHOLE family - the foster family, relatives, and biological family, and understands the tensions and complexities of doing that. It is not "us vs. them" to Foster Village Houston. These children and families are connected to us, and we are connected to them. The best outcomes for everyone happen when we realize there is no enemy, and the healing power of love. Foster Village Houston exemplifies that. - Foster Mom
